Since 2009, the C&S Family of Companies has coordinated a clothing drive, which is usually held in November. The aim is to provide neighbors in need – particularly families with children – with gently used (and sometimes new) items to wear. Last year, employees at 34 facilities stepped up and donated clothes.
In cold weather locations, the initiative is called “Warm Hearts, Warm Hands,” and the items given by employees are usually coats, hats, mittens and sweaters.
In states where the weather stays warm during the winter, items range from shorts to T-shirts.
Clothing is collected for local organizations that include homeless shelters, food pantries or food banks and the Salvation Army.
