The spirit of service is alive at C&S. From New Hamsphire to Hawaii, our associates are rolling up their sleeves and making a difference in their communities. They’re helping to staff food banks, build homes, parks, mentor children, deliver meals to seniors and so much more. And we support them with programs designed to encourage, honor and supplement their efforts.
At C&S we believe that participating in volunteer activities is one of the best ways our company can give back to our communities. We sponsor a range of programs to help our associates find and participate in local volunteer opportunities and events.
Dollars for Doers is a C&S program that “follows the lead” of our associates by donating money to community organizations where they volunteer. Through this program, C&S makes financial contributions to nonprofit groups based on the amount of time our associates volunteer – one dollar for each hour of service.
For millions of Americans, including too many millions of children, food insecurity is a way of life. In partnership with Feeding America, C&S associates in each of our facilities are asked to donate food for children during National Hunger Action Month. Items collected are delivered to food banks and distributed to local families at risk of hunger. C&S matches each pound of food donated with a $1 donation to Feeding America.
With so many pressing needs in our communities, can one day of volunteering really make a difference? You bet it can. And what C&S volunteers accomplish is proof. They pack groceries at food banks, clean up parks, paint recreation centers, help build homes and much more. And at the end of the day, the world is a just a little better.
Teamwork works! Our C&S Team Up and Make Strides program was created to support C&S associates who volunteer in teams for fund-raising walkathons, bike rides and road races. Qualifying teams are eligible to receive financial or in-kind contributions for their charities.
At C&S, we’re proud of our reputation as a company that cares. It’s our associates who make the real difference. Their generosity and commitment to volunteering are helping creating positive changes for people and communities across the country – and each year we honor one special associates with our Volunteer of the Year award.
