Caring Begins at Home
In 1990, a group of employees initiated a program called Friends at C&S, Inc. to help fellow employees in times of need.
A nonprofit organization, Friends at C&S demonstrates our values and offers assistance to employees experiencing personal emergencies, such as serious illness, death or catastrophic circumstances within their immediate family. Friends at C&S is supported entirely by employees and funds are raised through raffles, plant sales and other activities.
Since its inception, Friends at C&S has provided 286 employees companywide with a total of $181,937 in financial aid.
Each of the employees who have been helped has a story, usually a highly personal and sometimes tragic story, and because of Friends at C&S, many of those stories have a more positive outcome.
Friends at C&S has responded to requests by employees to help with:
• repairing a home damaged in a storm
• purchasing furnishings after a house fire
• assisting with medical bills for life crises
