We’re moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons. We’re proud to work at a company that invests in strengthening families and the places we call home.
Committees of employees at C&S locations devote times to making decisions about the company's giving at the local level. They direct “Mini Grants” to area nonprofit groups, schools, libraries, community health programs, and more.
Additionally, C&S associates join forces each year for the United Way. Annual pledges made by associates are matched dollar-for-dollar by C&S to support local United Way's. The United Way Worldwide has given C&S the honor of being named a Global Corporate Leader due to company's long tradition and depth of support.
Our commitment to end childhood hunger is joined by an equal passion to increase educational opportunity for children. We believe that the combination of healthy minds and strong bodies ensure that children have a fair chance in life. In partnership with First Book, we’ve donated 330,560 books to children, schools and libraries in C&S communities. Opening a book is opening a world of imagination and discovery, history and poetry, adventure and information. We’re proud to help nurture a love of reading and learning for children without access to books.
We have a special place in our hearts for the brave children who wage battle against cancer. Their courage has inspired a relentless commitment to find a cure. For more than thirty years, the annual C&S Charity Golf Outing has united customers, partners and industry colleagues in support of these special children. Together, we’ve raised millions of dollars to fund treatment and research at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth in New Hampshire and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Because sometimes laughter is the best cure of all, our Outing also directs funds to the joyful mission of Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
When a neighbor is in need, C&S associates respond. On the local level, associates volunteer, raise funds, donate clothing, and food. When national and international disasters strike, extraordinary efforts are required from all of us. From 9/11 to Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey and Maria, to floods and large-scale wildfires, C&S responds quickly and with compassion. We provide food, financial resources and sometimes associate donations for those affected. And, we support the frontline efforts of our partners, including the American Red Cross, to meet immediate needs in times of great challenge.
