2006 National Make a Difference Day
C&S Associates Show Compassion and Take Action
Keene, NH- For the fourth year in a row, C&S Associates volunteered their time to help local nonprofit groups as part of "National Make a Difference Day" on Saturday, October 28th. Make A Difference Day is a day of caring that involves over 3 million volunteers from coast-to-coast and from all walks of life.
This year's projects were focused on food assistance organizations. They are listed below along with the number of C&S and affiliates associates who participated:
- Honolulu, Hawaii: Painted walls at the Hawaii Food Bank (15 associates)
- Keene, NH: Painted walls at the Keene Community Kitchen (12 associates)
- Langdon, NH: Moved and stocked shelves at the Fall Mountain Food Pantry (8 associates)
- Brattleboro, VT: Painted ceiling and "deep cleaning" at the Brattleboro Senior Meals Program (8 associates)
- Springfield, MA: Painted walls at the Worthington Street Homeless Shelter (8 associates)
- Buffalo, NY: Packed "blizzard boxes" at the Food Bank of Western New York (20 associates)
- Chester, NY: Assembled food boxes at the Chester Food Pantry (4 associates)
- Harrisburg, PA: Re-packed food at the Food Bank of Central PA (10 associates)
- Fresno, CA: Built a walkway at the Spirit of Women Shelter (5 associates)
- Mauldin, SC: Painted at the Food Bank of the Piedmont (20 associates)
- Birmingham, AL: Sorted food at the Birmingham Community Food Bank (8 associates)
"Make A Difference Day is about making a commitment and expressing compassion through action," said C&S Chairman and CEO Rick Cohen. "Our Associates volunteered and helped people; I'm proud that they got involved."
